Rodgers started his pro mma career in Minnesota in 2006 where he won his first 5 fights by TKO or KO.  After showing promise against the local talent Rogers was offered a fight in the now dispersed EliteXC where he submitted (by strikes) Ralph Kelly in the first round.  Rogers went on to knock out James Thompson and Jon Murphy, both in the first round.  Rogers then got picked up by Strikeforce and fought Ron Humphrey during Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Diaz and won in the second round by TKO.  Rogers got a chance two months later to fight former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski and won by TKO 22 seconds into the first round.  Notable wins:  Andrei Arlovski, Ron Humphrey, and Jon Murphy.
