Brock Lesnar ProfileIt was a good night to be in the UFC, Saturday July 11th, as bonuses were at an all time high for the fighter’s at $100,000 for submission, knock out, and fight of the night. As the UFC put on some of the biggest fights of the year for their centennial show some fighters did very well for themselves while others missed out.

Brock Lesnar received $400,000 for his 7 minute dismantling of former champ Frank Mir. However, Lesnar also earned a disclosed portion of the pay-per-view revenue that is rumored to be in the seven digit marks. His opponent Mir earned $45,000 for the night and a broken nose, but missed out on what would have been a $45,000 win bonus.

Even with a terrible groin injury sustained during the third round of his five round title defense. George St. Pierre earned $400,000 for his display of complete dominance over challenger Thiago Alves who received $60,000.

Dan Henderson earned himself “knock out of the night” when he used his patented over hand right to silence Michael Bisping and possibly set himself up for a title run.

Judo Legend Yoshihiro Akiyama won a well-deserved unanimous victory over Alan Belcher, but both came home with something. As they shared “fight of the night” honors and both took home a $100,000 check with their purses.

Lastly Tom Lawler earned himself “submission of the night” when he submitted fellow TUF cast member CB Dollaway in under a minute with a guillotine choke.
